Equilism

You may be an equilist and don't even know it!

What is "Equilism"?
Equilism is a social concept developed by Drew Mcpherson. It is a blueprint for a society which is very similar to the capitalist world we live in, built up with the same basic building blocks, but with a few slightly different core underlying principles.

The funny thing is that most people already have equilist values at the core of their ideological code. In fact, that is the whole governing principle of equilism - to give people what they truly want, deep down, not just at the superficial level. This is the way to achieve that really powerful and lasting sense of satisfaction that lasts a lifetime.

Have you ever felt empty or hollow or shoehorned into a situation that you weren't entirely comfortable with? You may have even thought that there must be a better way to do things, but probably didn't have the time or ambition to explore that further and figure out in explicit detail what this spark of an idea was all about. I have felt that too, and I have explored beyond the tip of the iceberg to contemplate all the different possibilities about how things could be if a few details were changed here and there.

So as the tagline states, you may be an equilist and not even know it. In fact, you most probably are. Most people are not capitalist at heart. Many of those who become rich and famous, suddenly realize that it wasn't what they wanted to begin with and resort to drugs to escape this painful realization of the truth. The old proverb about not being able to buy happiness is true. You may think that rich people are simply spoiled, but the lack of fulfillment actually arises from living by a set of core principles that don't quite jive with your internal value system.

Throughout my life I have recognized patterns in society and worked at reverse engineering them down to the core principles that caused them to flourish. Analysis and understanding of these patterns led me to identify and research these principles in more thorough detail. Let me give you an example of one of these principles.

The capitalist value system places economic health above all else. Hence the very fitting name CAPITALism. The other values of community and personal health take a back seat when it comes to productivity. If you're sick or having marital difficulties you will be hard pressed to take any amount of time off work to focus on improving the health of your body or your relationship. Given this fact, is it any wonder that cancer is rampant and family break-ups commonplace? Just look at all those cancer research societies. They're all about dollars and cents, fundraising, money, CAPITAL. How can you help people when your primary focus is monetary? This is an inversion of the equilist principles that most people have in their hearts, and so results in all kinds of unhappiness and suffering.

After the identification that these value inversions exist, I had to reconsider the core principles and do projections to determine precisely the effect these ideals have and what would happen if society were changed slightly to accomodate what people truly want. From there, it was necessary to determine non-catastrophic ways that these principles could be instilled at the most basic levels of human social consciousness.

Once the ultimate goal of implementing an equilist consciousness was decided upon, it was necessary to determine the most effective way of implementing it. The most difficult aspect was in finding ways of achieving this without violating the principles of equilism themselves. For instance, many times throughout history there have been wars whose purported goal was to achieve peace. This wasn't good enough for me. I had to find ways of instilling the principles of equilism without departing from those principles in the process. We have to take the hard road when the end does not justify the means.

This involved creating a 50 year plan which requires a 10 year plan initially to achieve sufficient funding to begin the social experiment. The plan is not set in stone, and will necessarily change as circumstance dictates, however, the initial 10 year plan involves playing by the capitalist rules to essentially "win" the capitalism game, thereby providing sufficient credibility, research and influence for the next phase of the process.

How far has Equilism come? What stage are you at?
I am currently at the beginning of phase 1 of the equilism plan.

The 10 year plan to attain sufficient funding, credibility and research to implement the actualization of equilism has begun. In order to make a difference in a capitalist world, it is necessary to play by the capitalist rules to start, and that necessarily involves funding.

Once that has been achieved, the actualization will start with a small social experiment which will serve as a positive example to the rest of the world about how society can function in a different way that makes everybody happier on the whole. The idea is that this will trigger that latent spark of an idea inside people's minds and create a chain reaction that will span multiple decades and foster a grass roots social change for the better.

Bine Consulting will be the first equilist company. It may not make me as rich as Bill Gates, but he was on the wrong path the whole time. He's suddenly woken up and realized it and now he's desperately scrambling to make ammends by giving away large sums of money. He's a smart man; he was bound to figure it out sooner or later, but just got caught up in the game as so many of us can from time to time.

The goal of equilism is to empower and inspire people to have the ambition and drive to take charge of their lives and their world to enact those changes that they always knew they needed, but couldn't stop and figure out because they had to get to work for 9am.

The entire philosophy will be outlined in Drew Mcpherson's upcoming book about Equilism.
